Use & Care
All candles deserve a little TLC. Make the most out of every burn with these candle care steps.
Snip Snip. Each time you light your candle, make sure to trim your wick to 1/4" first. This will ensure a clean, even burn every time! Bonus, it helps to reduce soot on the glass.
Light it up. After you light your candle, let it burn until the wax pools to the edges (especially on the very first burn).
Cool + Rest. When you're ready, extinguish the flame and let your candle completely cool before the next burn.
The Last Burn. Once your candle has only 1/2" of wax left, it's time for a new one. Continuing to burn with less than 1/2" of wax can be really dangerous (the candle could shatter or catch fire).
Warning. Burn within sight. Keep away from things that catch fire. Keep away from children. To prevent fire, place only on heat resistant surfaces. Avoid drafts. Avoid cold surfaces such as glass or marble. Keep foreign matter and wick trimmings out of candle.

This scent is subtle, crisp, and intoxicating. The scent description is spot on and lights up your space without being overbearing. It is my total go to for my home and for gifts given this year. Love love love!!

A few weeks ago, I ordered from Votivo for the first time. In what I thought would be a no-brainer, I order the scent I've always liked (Bamboo Leaf) that was no longer available from my favorite candle provider. Upon receiving the Votivo version of Bamboo Leaf, I was horrified. This was not only far from what I would consider close to Bamboo Leaf, it was a perfumy floral scent reminiscent of a wake.
Upset, I went onto their website and left a 1-star review blasting them for this mis-advertised travesty [granted, I was the dope ordering a personally untested experiential product online]. I was quickly met with a message from their customer support saying they were sorry I was disappointed, explained the differences between candle manufacturers, and offered to send me another candle (free). I appreciated their offer, but declined citing that I was more at fault than they were.
About a week later, I received a box from them with a different candle enclosed (White Ocean Sands). Impressed with their pro-active attention to customer service, I took it home and fired it up. I love it. It was a cool, non-flowery scent that wasn't my original Bamboo Leaf, but it has now become my new favorite. So much so, I ordered two additional 22 oz candles.
I happily give Votivo a well-deserved 5-star rating. Even if the "replacement" candle didn't hit the mark (which it did), I would still be remiss not publicly renounce my earlier review and share my experience of true customer service.…
